Councilmembers work for residents and are agents of a public trust relationship. It is the RESPONSIBILITY of EVERY elected official, to welcome open, clear, and professional dialogue with residents and to be professionally inquisitive of staff proposals. Good government requires clear and honest communication between Council, the public, and staff and a healthy dose of curiosity about the issues in order to understand them before casting a vote.
